“NFL Fan Missing During Football Game, Finally Found Days Later”
I have been following the bizarre story of Paul Kitterman. He was the fan on Sunday that went missing at an NFL game in Denver and wasn’t seen for days. When someone goes missing, usually it’s only two things; either they were hurt or are abducted, or they went into hiding. His friends and family were stunned.
Paul Kitterman went to the Denver Broncos game Sunday with his step son Jarod and friends. In the third quarter as he was waiting for his step son at the bathroom, Paul disappeared. Jarod thought he went back to his seat or was just walking around. Eventually when he didn’t return, they looked all over for him late into the night and then called authorities. Paul lived 200 miles away in Kremmling, Colorado. He works as a construction worker and farm hand.
A nationwide alert was sent and it was as if Paul had vanished. His family and friends described him as a responsible, kind, and thoughtful person who was against having credit cards and not much into technology. He did not have a cell phone with him. He was a 53 year old Caucasian male who lived alone and who seemed to have a good life. Many felt there was no way he would just leave so the mystery continued.
Four days after he went missing, Paul was found near a furniture store in Pueblo, Colorado; 110 miles away from the stadium that he disappeared from. A good samaritan had noticed him from television reports and called the police.
The police described him as being physically and emotionally exhausted but in overall good shape. Paul stated that he was very tired so the police called a local church that housed him so he could rest. His family though stated that Paul was in a very fragile emotional and physical state and that they would be seeking help for him.
Pueblo police stated that he was coherent and seemed in ok spirits and after a medical checkup, they talked to him.
Kitterman had stated that he threw away his Bronco’s hat so that he would not be recognized. He said that we was tired of being cold and sick of the football game so he just started to walk south. He slept in the woods and hitchhiked. He also told the police that he just liked to walk. At this time his family even states they don’t know exactly what happened and requested privacy.
Some people were very happy he was found but let’s face it; there are some really nasty and demented people and some were very angry and some were not very supportive.
Parody accounts from amateur; and I mean real amateur; comedians began to pop up all over the place on Twitter and Facebook. It must be hard for a family going through something to have some fool online making fun of them.
Many of us feel sometimes of just walking away from the stresses and pains of life so here’s to hoping that he gets the help and support that he needs and the story has a happy ending. A very strange disappearance is still writing itself.
